In order to assist FCRA members and Florida stenographic court reporting industry professionals, FCRA is excited to announce that the Florida Rules and Ethics seminar and FPR certification examination will be available to take online from Friday, November 1, 2024 through Saturday, November 30, 2024 Only.

 

OPTION 1: Florida Professional Reporter™ Certification (CLICK HERE TO REGISTER)
(Available to FCRA members only) .45 CEU available (4.5 hours)
Cost: $149

The full online certification course has nine sessions, a survey, and examination for those stenographic reporters who wish to obtain their FPR designation and for those managers, students, and instructors of stenographic reporting who wish to obtain their corresponding designation. The course will cover the Florida laws, rules, opinions, ethics, and best practices that every Florida reporter should know. The course has been updated to include best practices for reporting remote proceedings.

Stenographic reporting candidates who wish to take the examination and use the FPR credential must be participating members of FCRA. As an FPR, you will be required to complete and report 3.0 CEUs (30 hours) per three-year cycle to maintain your designation. All other categories - FPM, FPI, FPS, and FPR(S) - must be members at their corresponding membership level and meet the same CEU requirements as described for FPR holders. Participants will have immediate access to the online seminar and it can be taken at your leisure through the end of the day (11:59 p.m. ET) on Saturday, November 30, 2024. The seminar portion does not need to be completed in one sitting. After completion of the seminar portion, a certificate will be awarded that can be submitted to NCRA if you wish to apply for the 0.45 CEU*. 

Upon completion of the seminar portion, the certification examination will become available. Candidates will have only one opportunity to successfully pass the exam under your registration. Please note that this offering of the seminar and exam will expire and deactivate automatically at the end of the day (11:59 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, and must be completed on or before that date and time.  Once it is deactivated, it CANNOT be reactivated.  Extensions or refunds WILL NOT be given because the course/exam is not completed during the timeframe allotted.  

 

OPTION 2: Florida Rules and Ethics Seminar/FPR™ Refresher Course Only (CLICK HERE TO REGISTER)
(Available to current FPR holders and all Florida stenographic court reporting industry professionals) .45 CEU available (4.5 hours)
Cost: $129

The seminar course has nine sessions and a survey for those Florida stenographic court reporting industry professionals (FCRA members and non-members) who wish to expand their knowledge base of Florida’s rules and ethics. The seminar is also offered to current FPR, FPM, FPI, FPS, and FPR(S) holders who wish to take advantage of the updated seminar offering. Former stenographic FPR holders must retake the full FPR seminar and examination to reactivate their designation. The course will cover the Florida laws, rules, opinions, ethics, and best practices that every Florida reporter should know. The course has been updated to include best practices for reporting remote proceedings.

Participants will have immediate access to the online seminar, and it can be taken at your leisure through the end of the day (11:59 p.m. ET) on Saturday, November 30, 2024. The seminar portion does not need to be completed in one sitting.

The FPR™ Course/Refresher can be taken by non-members for informational purposes only.  Non-members are not eligible to take the exam or hold the FPR™ designation.
